Weekly Menu – no rest for the wicked

 Now that we’re making our own bread daily (prepped the night before and baked on the morning) theres less flour to bake with… so we have to get a little more inventive with our puddings/ snacks. Hopefully over the next couple of weeks we’ll get a little more organised and do all the baking on 1 or 2 days a week instead of spreading it out.

Tuesday – Shopping day

Minced beef and vegetables

Make bread

Glory buns & jam


Sandwich/ toastie night

Make bread

Apple crumble


lentil vegetable cobbler

Make bread


Beetroot cupcakes

Friday – family ‘do stuff’ night

Home made fish cakes & home made chips & sweetcorn

Make bread


Saturday – weekend baking day (& rugby day)

liver& bacon hotpot

Make bread

Minced beef pasties to eat/ store

Fat free fruit tea loaf + custard

Sunday  – a day of rest ( lmao I think i just had a little wee 😀 )

Aldi pork loin steaks and veg

Make bread

Carrot lemonade

1 egg sponge

If i get time we’ll the kids and I will make some more ice cream

  1. I got “Eating for Victory” today and its brilliant – no long lists of ingredients or fancy stuff, just good real food. Have you posted the fat free tealoaf recipe yet? I want to try that.

  2. Love you site it has been a bit inspirational don’t think we could do the whole thing ( hubby would complain too much – likes his takeaway ).
    Can I ask though what are Glory buns?

    • Thanks 😀 We’ve had a few people say they love a few takeaways… i think we’ll have to do a 1940s style takeaway themes week soon.
      Glory buns are a raisin spiced (cinnamon)bun…sort of like a mix between a hot cross bun and a teacake.
