These are easy and quick to make and great biscuit tin liners, by that I mean you can bake up a couple of trays and set some aside for that mid morning/ afternoon snackish feeling. The kids love them as well… if they’re looking for something to do in the afternoons, I open up our dining room table and set out some bowls with different colour icing inside. Aaaah, the joys of a wipe down table. The kids love ‘painting’ on the biscuits and then eating them.
- Cream the sugar and margarine together, then add the vanilla essence, egg and flour
- Roll into balls about 3/4 of and inch across… Flatten and dust with sugar then criss-cross with a fork.
- Place on greased baking trays and allow for spreading.
- Put tray into a preheated oven (190C, 375F, Gas Mark 5) for 15 minutes
- Makes about 14 biscuits
