APPOLOGIES AHEAD OF TIME FOR ANY SPELLING MISTAKES…. I’M TYPING THIS OUT ON WHAT SEEMS LIKE THE WORLDS OLDEST AND SLOWEST LAPTOP….. NO SPELL CHECK. [SIGHS]
Due to the icey weather my usual pilgramage to ALDI has been cancelled. Instead I’ve had to pick up bits and pieces as I need them from ASDA on the way back from picking the kids up from school. Not good. Its expensive just shopping day by day, twice as much since I’m not shopping at a bargain store… and worse still, shopping with kids. EEEk!
To add insult to injury, in a magnificent display of arial accrobatics… I did something to my back and hips trying very hard not to fall on my hands, arms and shoulders like the last two Januarys. Not a good start to 2013. Thank heavens its the right weather for hot water bottles.
Incasethis is your first visit to the site… I haven’t forgotten breakfast and lunch…. breakfast on most days is pretty similar. We have the option of toast, porrige oats (not rationed), or cereals like weetabix or cornflakes, all available in the war (the cereals would have been part of the points ration). If you were expecting bacon and eggs my appologies…. those items were strictly rationed and, to be honest, I can think of quite a few better uses for eggs and bacon.
Lunch wise… the older children (9 and 7 years) have cooked school meals while little miss E ( 4 years old) and my self keep it simple and stick to either an Oslo meal, toast or sandwich. Occasionally we’ll polish off the previous nights left overs.
But its not all oaty mush and buttered bread… with shake up your wake up starting on the 20th Im going to have to get creative with the most important meal of the day. Any other questions? Please feel free to ask, either in the comments box below the post or on our facebook (see right for links).
